Above is my usual EDC set up. As time goes by, I realized I really don’t have to carry all the keys with me. Eventually, it’s thinned down to car, home key, and a keychain tool.

Keys are held together by Magnetic Quick Release, made by tactical keychains.

These magnets are strong enough to keep everything together on daily use, but easy enough to pull apart when I need to give my car key to car washers or use the keychain tool.

The keychain tool is Peter Atwood A51 Tommyknocker in titanium. It served well as a good prying tool during job site surveys and well… bottle opener. The tool being titanium means that it will not interfere with how magnetic quick disconnects interact with each other. which is a bonus.

Wallet

I went from a traditional tri-fold, to a bi-fold, and just recently moved to this one.

As phone apps and electronic payment system gets more and more convenient, I find carrying multi membership cards and cash becomes less and less of a daily requirement and I can generally get away with just one or two credit card, Driver license, and one or two bills.

Leather wallet in similar format usually use thick leather, increasing the overall thickness. The only exception is Belroy, but after 15+ years of leather wallet, I figured it’s time to try new material.

The material is certainly wear resistance, it felt more like a plastic armor than anything. Taking cash in and out of the center wallet was a bit difficult at first, but as time passes by, the wallet broke in, and accessing its content becomes a none issue.

Knife

I have recently started to carry the Benchmade Anthem on weekdays and Orbit on weekends.

The lighter and flatter profile of the Anthem provides an more comfortable experience if I need to squeeze in a car for survey/company lunch. The Orbit is just a fun knife to have around over the weekend, and I generally don’t mind carrying a slightly heavier/large knife if I know I wouldn’t be getting into uncomfortable situations.

Both knives has great steel, both open extremely smoothly, easily to deploy and close with one hand, and Axis/Asix like lock, so I would never risk having my finger in the path of the blade while closing the knife.

Flashlight

The light is a Prometheus Beta QRV2 in pure copper. I choose copper for this knife due to sometimes holding having to hold the knife with my mouth while working on stuff, the self sanitation property of copper just made me feel a tad bit safer doing so. (just a bit)

Stylus

I use the Su-Pen Mini to play Puzzle and Dragon. The stylus allow me to move faster than using my finger without having to keep the phone screen oily.
